Introduction
Course Caddy LLC ("we", "our", "us") operates The Bib mobile application ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data. The Bib is a marketplace that connects golfers with caddies for tournaments and rounds.
Information We Collect
Account Information
- What: First name, last name, email address, password (hashed), user type (caddie or golfer), experience level.
- Why: To create and identify your account, sign you in, and route messages between users.
- How it's stored: In our authentication provider (Supabase, hosted on AWS in the United States).
Profile Information
- Caddies: Bio, years of experience, home location (city/state), tours you've worked, skills, weekly rate range, availability, willingness to travel, optional avatar photo, optional social links.
- Golfers: Handicap, home location, bio, primary tour, tour status, optional avatar photo, optional social links.
- Why: To present your profile to potential matches.
Activity Information
- What: Caddie requests you create or apply to, messages you send, tournaments you mark availability for, caddies you save.
- Why: Core marketplace functionality.
Push Notification Tokens
- What: An anonymous device token issued by Apple's APNs or Google's FCM service.
- Why: To send notifications for new messages, applications, and booking updates.
- How to opt out: Disable notifications in Settings → Notifications or in your device's iOS/Android settings.
What We Do NOT Collect
- We do not track your precise GPS location.
- We do not collect contacts, calendars, photos beyond what you explicitly upload, microphone, or camera audio.
- We do not run third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your information with advertisers.
How We Use Your Information
- To run the marketplace: Match golfers to caddies, deliver messages, post requests, schedule tournaments.
- To communicate: Transactional notifications about your account and activity.
- To improve the App: Aggregated, anonymized usage signals (no individual tracking).
- To prevent abuse: Detect spam, fraudulent profiles, and abuse of the platform.
Sharing & Disclosure
- With other users: Your profile is visible to other authenticated users. Messages are visible only between sender and recipient.
- With service providers: Supabase (database + authentication), Apple Push Notification service, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy commitments.
- For legal reasons: If required by law, court order, or to protect the rights or safety of users.
- In a sale or merger: If Course Caddy LLC is acquired or its assets are transferred, your data may transfer with it. We'll notify you before that happens.
Your Rights
- Access: View all your profile data in-app under Profile and Settings.
- Correction: Edit your profile, bio, location, and other fields directly in the app.
- Deletion: Delete your account in Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account. Your profile, requests, applications, and messages are permanently removed within 24 hours. Some legal/financial records may be retained as required by law.
- Portability: Email support@course-caddy.com and we'll send you a copy of your data.
- California / EU residents: You have additional rights under CCPA and GDPR. Contact us to exercise them.
Data Retention
We retain your account data while your account is active. After deletion, profile data is removed within 24 hours. Backup copies may persist for up to 30 days before being purged. Messages between you and other users are retained while both accounts exist.
Children
The Bib is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we learn we have, we will delete that data.
Security
We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, encrypted at rest in our database provider). No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Use a strong, unique password and enable Sign in with Apple where possible.
Changes to This Policy
We'll update this page when our practices change. Material changes will be announced in-app. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision.
